He worked hard all his life, alongside his brother John in the family business for 54 years. He always was happy to share a story about his grandson’s hard work, accomplishments, and experiences in Toronto. He was a very proud grandfather to his grandson, Hugh Alexander. (Buddy) MacDonald and her son, Mark MacDonald brother-in-law, Buddy MacMaster.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Beaton sister, Pauline and her husband Angus B. Surviving also are his daughter, Lois (Danny) Beaton McNamara, Halifax grandson, Hugh Alexander Beaton McNamara (Lauren Vassallo) Toronto sister, Marie MacMaster nieces, Carolyn MacDonald, Elaine (MacDonald) Collins, Sheila MacDonald, Mary Elizabeth (MacMaster) MacInnis nephews, Melvin MacDonald, and Allan MacMaster. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maneight, his life partner and supporter with whom they shared so much love and devotion. Al was born in Little Judique on December 24th, 1939, to Hugh and Sarah Anne (MacDougall) and following secondary education, he and his brother John joined his father in the very successful and respected business of Hugh Beaton and Sons located at Little Judique. Alexander Hugh “Al” – Little Judique: It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Al (Alexander Hugh) Beaton, which occurred in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
